Managing Director
Maria Pawlak
For 11 years, I have been explaining to officials how a modern school works
I founded Sgela Education Advocacy in September 2016 in Lublin. My work begins where the patience of EdTech platform owners to read the Journal of Laws ends. In 2024, our team closed 47 cases that were stuck at a dead end between the school and the ministry. We lay our cards on the table: officials don't always understand technology, and I am here to explain it to them simply and effectively.
In my work, there is no place for fluff. If your project has legal holes, you will find out about it in 14 minutes from opening the documents. I do not produce thick reports that no one reads. Instead, I prepare concrete amendments to statutes and subsidy applications. In the last half year, I helped three educational entities recover a total of 1.24 million zlotys from unjustly withheld educational subsidies. Regulations are our field and we are not afraid to use them in your interest.
Before founding the company, I spent 8 years in public administration, so I know exactly who picks up the phone in key departments. This experience allows me to shorten procedures that take others months. My approach is simple: I check the facts, find a gap in interpretation, and go to the office with it. (By the way, most subsidy problems result from a single comma placed in the wrong spot in the statute). I act quickly because in private education, time is not only money, but above all the director's peace of mind.
I don't take every case that comes to me. If I see the chances of winning are less than 23%, I say it immediately. I respect your time and my team. Currently, I supervise the work of 6 people who daily check changes in educational law so our clients can sleep peacefully. Without unnecessary talk about vision – we just make sure your educational business earns and operates according to the law.
